Family History Month

Along the line of October being the month of spirits, it is also Family History Month. Have you ever wondered what your great-great grandparents were like? Or maybe you look at your last name and wonder if you are a descendent of that great person in history who shares your name. This curiosity is a good reason to start your climb up your family tree.

In the Tri-Valley we’re fortunate to have several places to find help to begin our genealogy.  The Pleasanton Library has a great selection of genealogy books as well as computers with access to Ancestry and other on-line genealogy sites. Docents from Livermore-Amador Genealogy Society are on hand on Wednesdays from 10am – 1pm to help interested individuals get started with their family trees. For information on our two local genealogy societies, meetings, and genealogy links please visit their websites:

So what are you waiting for? It’s time to be a part of history!
